Who we are

ReviewByte LLC provides tools that help business owners monitor reviews and comments, generate AI replies, and post those replies to connected platforms. In many cases we act as a data controller for account and billing data, and as a service provider/processor for review and comment data that you connect from third-party platforms.

What we collect

Business profile data, review content and metadata, owner replies, contact details you provide, integration tokens/credentials needed to post replies on your behalf, and usage events for reliability and security.

When you connect Google Business Profile, Facebook, or Instagram, we may collect both new and historical reviews, ratings, comments, and owner replies from those platforms.

We also collect device, browser, and log data (such as IP address, timestamps, and event metadata) to secure and operate the Service.

Cookies and analytics

We use cookies or similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used so we can improve reliability. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

How we use data

We do not automatically respond to old reviews without your explicit action. Alerts start from connection time; historical data is used for analytics and optional catch-up only.

How we share data

We share information with service providers that help us operate (e.g., hosting, analytics, messaging, and payment processing). We may share data if required by law, to protect our users and the Service, or as part of a corporate transaction. We never sell your data.

International transfers

ReviewByte operates in the United States and may process data in the U.S. or other countries where we or our service providers operate. We take steps to protect information during international transfers.

Retention

We keep data only as long as necessary to provide the Service or as required by law. You can request deletion at any time. If you disconnect a platform, historical data already ingested may remain for analytics unless you request deletion consistent with this policy.

Security

We use encryption in transit and at rest where supported, scoped access keys, and least-privilege operational practices. No system is perfectly secure; we continually improve our controls.

SMS and Email Messaging

If you provide your mobile number and email address, ReviewByte will send you automated SMS and service emails with review alerts, sensitive-review approvals (via SMS with approve/ignore options), and account notifications related to your own business pages. These communications are service/utility focused, not promotional marketing campaigns. Message frequency varies based on your review activity - some days you may receive no messages, other days you may receive multiple alerts depending on the volume of reviews and comments on your connected platforms. Message & data rates may apply for SMS. You can reply STOP to opt out of SMS and HELP for help at any time. We do not sell or share your mobile information with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

By checking the SMS consent box, you agree to receive SMS notifications from ReviewByte. Msg frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.

Your rights and choices

You may access, correct, or delete your data by contacting us at support@thereviewbyte.com. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing and to request data portability.

Children's privacy

ReviewByte is not directed to children. If you believe a minor has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy here and provide additional notice for material changes as required by law.

Payments

Subscriptions are billed via Stripe. ReviewByte does not store full card details; Stripe securely processes payment information.
